Route 18
for flute and piano – 5m 30s

PROGRAM NOTE
NJ-18 is the state highway that connects Central Jersey to the middle of the Jersey Shore in Wall Township. Along the way you find prominent towns like Freehold, and a huge flea market located in Englishtown.
In New Brunswick, it is what connects all for campuses of Rutgers University together. As a commuter, I frequently traveled on the highway get from campus to campus, observing every bridge and landmark there is to see. The traffic is always steady during the mornings, until it is suddenly chaotic as students leave class and workers rush to get home.
Eventually, it is peaceful again at night, this time with the lights of the towers and lamp posts shining like the stars, showing off the curves of the highway alongside the Raritan River.
